HOMESCHOOL GATHERING PLACE

Navigation is a hands-on textbook designed for middle school Luddy Vocational Arts students, introducing the history, tools, and techniques used by navigators across centuries. Students will explore how ancient and modern cultures—from the Phoenicians and Greeks to Polynesians and astronauts—found their way across land and sea using the stars, instruments, and eventually satellites.

Through engaging lessons and practical activities, students will learn to read celestial tools like the astrolabe and quadrant, interpret trade routes, and use GPS technology in modern mapping and orienteering challenges.
